Who is responsible

stancho.com is the personal website of Stanislav Popov (“Stan”), who is the controller of the personal data described here.

Contact: hi@stancho.com · ul. “Nikolay Haytov” 3A (RSC office), Iztok, Sofia, Bulgaria.

Visiting the website

When you open a page, your browser sends technical data such as your IP address, the page address, the time and your browser type. Our hosting provider uses this data to deliver the website and protect it from abuse, and keeps it in its logs for a short period. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The website uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools and does not set cookies on public pages, so there is no cookie banner. Two strictly necessary cookies are used only by the site owner, for signing in to the private admin area and for previewing content.

Contact form

If you write to us, we process your name, email address, subject, message and the page language to reply to you. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering enquiries and, where your message concerns a possible cooperation, steps before a contract (Art. 6(1)(f) and (b) GDPR).

Your message is delivered by email through our email delivery provider to our mailbox provider. The website itself does not keep a copy and never adds you to a mailing list. We keep your emails for as long as needed to answer you and delete them no later than 12 months after our last exchange, unless the law requires longer.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to occasional updates, we process your email address, your language, where you signed up (home page or footer), the time of the request and of your confirmation, and the version of the consent text you agreed to. You are subscribed only after you click the link in the confirmation email we send first (double opt-in); sign-ups that are not confirmed are deleted after 30 days. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

You can withdraw your consent at any time with one click on the unsubscribe link in every email, or by writing to hi@stancho.com. Withdrawal takes effect immediately and does not affect emails sent before. After you unsubscribe, or if your address bounces or an email is reported as spam, we keep your address with the date and reason for up to 24 months only so that you are not emailed again (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), then delete it together with the related consent records. On request we delete everything earlier.

Newsletters and confirmation emails are sent through our email delivery provider, which receives the addresses and language of active subscribers for sending and reports delivery results (delivered, bounced, spam complaint). We do not track whether you open an email or click a link. The subscriber list and the consent records are kept in our private, access-restricted storage and are included in our encrypted backups.

Ask Stan (AI assistant)

Ask Stan answers questions using only the public content of this website. Your question and the last few messages of the conversation are sent to Anthropic, PBC (USA), whose Claude model generates the answer. Legal basis: providing the assistant you choose to use (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The website does not store your questions or the answers. Anthropic processes them under its commercial terms, does not use them to train its models and keeps them only for a limited period. Please do not enter personal or sensitive information. Answers are generated automatically, may be inaccurate and are not written by Stan.

Protection against abuse

To prevent spam and overuse, the contact form, the newsletter sign-up and Ask Stan temporarily store your IP address with a request counter for up to 24 hours, and the contact form stores a one-way fingerprint of each message for 24 hours to prevent duplicates (the message cannot be read from it). This data is held by our database provider in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany). Legal basis: legitimate interest in protecting the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Service providers and transfers

We use technical service providers for hosting, private data storage, email and newsletter delivery, mailbox hosting, abuse protection and the AI assistant. They process data only on our behalf. Some of them, including Anthropic, are based in the USA; such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format, object to processing based on legitimate interest and withdraw consent at any time. Write to hi@stancho.com to exercise these rights.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., Sofia 1592, www.cpdp.bg) or with the supervisory authority in your country.
